Nigeria’s Super Eagles suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Wednesday, and their manager Jose Peseiro believes that the refereeing decisions were not fair. The Portuguese coach was visibly unhappy with some of the decisions made by the match officials during the game, and expressed his dissatisfaction after full time. He said: “I think it was unfair for us today. We had several chances to score but we were denied by some poor refereeing decisions.” Peseiro also criticized his players for not taking their chances when they had them, saying: “We should have done better with our finishing. We had several opportunities to score but we didn't take them. That's why we lost today." The result leaves Nigeria in second place in Group C of the AFCON qualifiers behind leaders Guinea-Bissau who are now four points clear at the top of the table. The Super Eagles will need to win their remaining two games against Sierra Leone and Lesotho if they are to qualify for next year's tournament in Cameroon. Do you agree with Peseiro?
