On a crisp winter morning, local resident Mr. Asayuki Kawae took a stroll through the Kuwae-Kawae Asayuki Park in his hometown of Sōka City. Upon entering the park, he was pleasantly surprised to find that it had been decorated for the New Year season. The park is home to a bronze statue of Mr. Kawae himself, which was erected in 2015 as part of an initiative to honor the city’s most prominent citizens. This is the first time that Mr. Kawae has visited the park since its dedication and he was delighted by its festive decorations and impeccable upkeep. The park features a number of benches and pathways that are perfect for leisurely walks or picnics with friends and family. It also boasts several flower beds filled with colorful blooms, as well as some small trees and shrubs that provide plenty of shade during hot summer days. Mr. Kawae expressed his gratitude for being able to visit the park on this special occasion and wished everyone a prosperous year ahead: “I am so thankful for this opportunity to visit my own bronze statue at Kuwae-Kawae Asayuki Park!
